My Benefits
To my fellow brothers and sisters, I know all of you, at some point; have heard the term, “the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.” So I would like to tell you more about what I receive now versus what I did not receive at Cox. I have structured raises every six months, regardless of how many jobs I do a day, how many call backs I have, and how many sales I make. It does not matter what my manager thinks of me. It does not matter if I stand up and speak my mind. It does not matter if I get into an accident. It does not matter if I call in sick more than two times a year. It does not matter if I fall off a ladder or have any type of “preventable accident.” It does not matter if I lose a digi box, a cable modem, or any other type of CPE. Actually now that I think about it, I do not even keep track of my CPE there is no sifting through logs and everything else trying to find a lost box. I never could understand how anyone would like it if they were to receive a second warning and have to give up 2 percent of that raise. That’s insane, everyone makes mistakes and why should they hit you in the wallet when all you are doing is adding to theirs. After all my raises are done and I get to top rate which is 31.20/hr, I will receive a cost of living raise annually, usually around 3-3.5%. You can do the math, roughly 1 dollar per hour raise every year. Remember the equity study??? What a joke that was, how long did it take for you to get your money, 2 and a half years!!! Absolutely ridiculous, how a company that makes billions can get away with that is outrageous. I could see if they were financially strapped and simply did not have the money, but they did make Forbes’ top 15 didn’t they. Oh yeah that’s right remember when Cox was done upgrading their plant and they were actually going to start turning a profit. Do you remember what happened next, I do? Cox Communications INC, then folded Cox Business Services back into their CORE side (CCI) then they took out a loan to buy back all the common shares of CCI stock. While we all got our money back, none of us enjoyed the dividends that would have ultimately come to us. Who knows how much this would have been. Maybe a little bit maybe more, point is they took more money out of your pocket. Me well I get a profit sharing check every March, $750.00 to be exact. That is a nice little check to receive for doing my job. Like American Express says in their ads “Membership has its rewards.”

Well that sounds good enough that even a monkey can enjoy it.
A truly better way of life....
How true!
